   All members of the Association are invited to the DACA Annual General Meeting.  This is your opportunity to find out what is happening in your Association, meet committee members and put forward ideas and suggestions.  







Young DACA

Please read the following carefully.  The Association reserves the right to reject entries which do not comply with the entry requirements for the section in which the work is entered.

The Association welcomes entries from young persons as individuals, or as part or a school or other group entry.  


Work may be entered in any of the Craft, Fine Art or Photography Sections.


 Refer to the Fine ArtPhotography or Craft pages for the relevant entry specifications for the work being entered. 


Judging and Trophies


The following trophies are awarded for individual entries in each age group (age at 31st July 2018)

The Kirkus Challenge Cup (given by Mrs. C.N. Kirkus) -  7 years or under

The Woodroffe Challenge Cup (given by Miss Woodroffe)  -  age 8 to 11

The Woodrow Challenge Cup (given by H. Woodrow Esq.)  -  age 12 to 14

An Association voucher for £25 - age 15 and 16

An Association voucher for £25  - age 17 and 18


Association vouchers for £25 will be awarded for the best School or Group entry in the following categories

Key Stage 1

Key Stage 2

key Stage 3

Work for GCSE Examinations

Work for "AS" or "A" Examinations


A "Lace Bobbin" may be awarded to a lace maker in each age bands.  

The Bobbin for age 17 and 18 is the  "Norma Reed Lace Bobbin" donated by Mrs. Ann Bray.


The Trisha MacNaughtan Cup for Youth Enterprise (donated by Malcolm Macnaughtan) will be awarded to an entry by a young person for a needlework or textile entry in any age band.     


Certificates will be awarded to all Exhibitors. 



How to complete the entry form (individual entries)

Please remember to complete both copies of the form with all the information required. 


Column 1  -  Enter "YP"


Column 2 -   Enter the Section code  - e.g. POT (for pottery) 

                                         (refer to the relevant Fine Art, Craft or Photography page for the appropriate codes)


Column 3  -  If a Craft, enter one of 

"O" - Original (designed and produced without a commercial pattern)  

"P"  - A commercial pattern (instructions from leaflet / book etc) has been used  

"A"  - Adapted (commercial pattern used as base and then adapted)

"K"  - Kit

"AK" - Adapted Kit 

"W" - Produced in a workshop with a tutor 


Column 4  - The title/description of the item (max five words).


Column 5  -  The selling price (including 20% commission) or "NFS" (Not For Sale). 

If the column is left blank, it will be assumed that the item is not for sale. 


Column 6 - Leave blank, except if entering in Patchwork and Quilting (see section instructions)


How to complete the entry form (group entries)


There are three different group entry forms; select from the list below for your type of entry.


For schools, download the schools entry form.

For groups entering a single piece of work, download the group work entry form.

For groups entering items by more than one maker, download the multiple individual entries form.


Complete the Group Entry Form with the information required and send to the Entries Secretary.
