Insurance for DACA volunteers

The Dorset Arts and Crafts Association (DACA) has Employer’s Liability Insurance cover for all authorised volunteers at its events, while open to the public and also during the preparation and taking down stages. For the purposes of this cover, authorised volunteers are considered to be DACA employees. An authorised volunteer is defined as anyone who has completed the volunteer form and been provided with instruction and guidance from Steering Committee members / team leaders / chief steward as relevant for the role.

The limits for Personal Accident cover are given in the table below. You will be covered by our Employer’s Liability Insurance whatever your age. Personal Accident cover varies by age as shown. There is no Personal Accident cover for those who are under 16 or over 80.

We do not impose any age restrictions on those wanting to volunteer; please consider your own circumstances when volunteering. The safety of our volunteers is paramount and we carry out daily health and safety checks. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing and footwear appropriate to the task you are undertaking.
