It is essential that your work is labelled accurately, in accordance with the instructions below.
Please ensure that you use the correct codes on the entry form.
Fine Art entries should qualify for one of the trophy competitions as follows:
Botanical Art or Illustration
Botanical Illustration: scientifically and botanically accurate, and includes all aspects of the plant including lifecycle.
Botanical art: scientifically and botanically accurate, but does not have to include all aspects of the lifecycle.
Note that Flower painting is not eligible (Paintings of flowers, not necessarily botanically accurate, still life, pretty pictures etc).
Dorset Life, Landscape or Seascape
There must be an obvious Dorset element to the subject
Open
Any subject which does not qualify for either of the above competitions.
The maximum number of framed pictures which may be entered is three, either one in each competition or in the same competition.
Fine Art entries must be securely framed with eyelets or “D” rings and a substantial taut cord about 1/3 from the top of the frame.
Pictures which are inadequately framed will not be hung.
Pictures must not have a perimeter larger than 300cm.
Clip frames are not accepted.
The labels returned to you must be secured to the back of each entry.

The information you supply will be captured electronically and used to produce labels and an entry form. These will be posted to you along with some flyers which we ask that you use to help publicise the event.
