Calligraphy – Letters and Words Hand-made

Our Guest Exhibition shows designs and layouts of all sorts, using different styles of writing (hands) and sometimes illustrations, to express a chosen subject.

Blackmore Vale Scribes is a small and informal group of hobby calligraphers who meet to work and learn together. Regular meetings are held monthly on a Saturday, usually the second in the month, at Bradford Abbas Village Hall, Bradford Abbas, near Sherborne. Three of the meetings each year are whole day workshops and one is a Zoom workshop all led by qualified external tutors. The other meetings are afternoons only.

We are affiliated to CLAS (the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society) and are a group of different levels of ability and experience and new members are always welcome. Further information is available on the website: blackmorevalescribes.co.uk or contact: bvscribes@gmail.com
