Dorchester Camera Club

Dorchester Camera Club was founded by a small group of enthusiasts in 1936 and now, with a thriving membership of nearly 100, has become one of the most successful clubs in the Southwest and in the UK. The club meets weekly on Monday evenings in the Brownsword Hall Poundbury and occasionally via Zoom. New members are always welcome, whether beginner or experienced, with the first three meetings free.

The club runs a varied programme including talks by members and visiting speakers covering a wide range of subjects such as landscape, nature, travel, portrait, monochrome, street, sport and creative. There are also competitions (both print and digital), show and tell events, critique evenings, exhibitions, mentoring, workshops, field trips and social events.

The club also has a number of specialist groups meeting regularly for those interested in nature, street, landscape, creative techniques and members wishing to obtain photographic distinctions.
